Bamboos are a group of plants belonging to the family Poaceae, the grasses, which is related to family Restionaceae, which is also represented in this exhibition area.

Bamboos are mainly found in Asia, with only a few species living in Africa and Oceania, while Restionaceae are naturally distributed in Africa and Australia.
